Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Kloud Safari (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates kloudsafari.com, a cloud career assessment platform for engineers. For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at privacy@kloudsafari.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service:

• Account data - your email address and a securely hashed version of your password when you register.
• Profile data - your name, LinkedIn and GitHub URLs, and years of experience, which you provide voluntarily to improve your profile.
• Assessment data - your responses, scores, level placements, and the gap report and roadmap generated from them.
• Certifications - certification names, issuers, and dates you choose to record in your profile.
• Job activity - opportunities you save, bookmark, or apply to, and any notes you add to tracked applications.
• Payment data - billing is handled entirely by our payment processor. We never see or store card numbers or banking details.
• Usage data - pages visited, session duration, and general device information used to operate and improve the platform. IP addresses are anonymised within 30 days.

3. How we use your data

• Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
• Score your assessment and generate your personalised gap report and week-by-week learning roadmap.
• Match you to cloud job opportunities suited to your assessed role and level.
• Send transactional emails - account confirmation, assessment results, and (if enabled) a weekly digest of matched jobs.
• Generate your public profile when you choose to share your verified score with employers.
• Improve the platform using aggregated, anonymised analytics.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-party processors

To operate the platform, we engage trusted sub-processors. Each operates under its own privacy policy and a data processing agreement with us:

• Authentication and database infrastructure - your account data, assessments, and profile are stored on secure, encrypted cloud infrastructure hosted in the United States.
• Email delivery - transactional emails (account confirmation, results, job digest) are sent via a third-party email service. Your email address is shared with this provider solely for delivery purposes.
• Payment processing - subscription billing is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which processes your payment details directly. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status.
• AI inference - your assessment responses are processed by an AI model to generate your score, gap report, and roadmap. Your responses are not used to train AI models; this is governed by our data processing agreement with the provider.

5. Data retention

• Account and assessment data is kept for as long as your account is active.
• If you request account deletion, we erase your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

6. Cookies

We use two types of browser storage:

• Session cookie - a strictly necessary authentication cookie that keeps you signed in. It expires when you sign out or after 7 days of inactivity.
• Theme preference - a local setting that remembers your light or dark mode choice. It contains no personal data and never leaves your device.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
• Export your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based (for example, unsubscribing from the job digest).

8. Security

We apply industry-standard measures to protect your data: passwords are never stored in plain text, all data in transit is encrypted, and access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only. We conduct periodic security reviews and promptly address identified vulnerabilities.

9. Children

Kloud Safari is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email and by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
