Cluster-level metrics (kube-state-metrics, Prometheus), resource quota enforcement, cost attribution per team, and defining SLOs for the platform itself.
Governance & Security
Kubernetes RBAC and namespace isolation, admission controllers (OPA / Kyverno), network policies, SSO for cluster access, and multi-account guardrails.

Which cloud does the Platform Engineer assessment cover?

Do I need Kubernetes experience to take the platform engineering assessment?
Kubernetes knowledge is very helpful, particularly for the container platforms and governance domains. The assessment will identify specific gaps and include them in your personalised roadmap.
What is the difference between Platform Engineering and DevOps?
DevOps Engineers typically work within a product team to ship that team's software. Platform Engineers build the shared infrastructure and tooling that all product teams use. The shift is from project to product - the platform itself is the product.
